Projetos de pesquisa em andamento

2011 a AtualPrograma de prevenção do diabetes em mulheres com diabetes gestacional prévio
Estudo multicêntrico de mudanças de estilo de vida, de intervenção em ~740 mulheres com diagnóstico de diabetes gestacional (DMG) no ano anterior ao recrutamento em Porto Alegre, Pelotas e Fortaleza. A intervenção visa a mudanças de hábitos de vida focalizadas na alimentação saudável e no aumento da atividade física após o parto. Os desfechos a serem analisados serão incidência de diabetes tipo 2 (primário) e mudanças no índice de massa corporal (IMC), percentagem de gordura corporal, nível de atividade física, perfil lipídico, fatores inflamatórios e qualidade de vida (secundários).

2009 a AtualEstudo de Riscos Cardiovasculares em Adolescentes (ERICA)
: O objetivo do estudo é estimar a prevalência de diabetes mellitus, obesidade, fatores de risco cardiovascular e de marcadores de resistência à insulina e inflamatórios em adolescentes de 12 a 17 anos que freqüentam escolas em cidades brasileiras com mais de 100 000 habitantes. Trata-se de Estudo Multicêntrico, envolvendo 15 Instituições de Ensino e Pesquisa de todo o país, com a participação de mais de 50 pesquisadores.

O centro Colaborador visa a contribuir para o desenvolvimento de um sistema de vigilância para o diabetes e as doenças cardiovasculares capaz de propor recomendações para ações preventivas e monitorar mudanças em indicadores dessas doenças ou agravos e suas complicações.

2006 a AtualEstudo Longitudinal de Saude dos Adultos (ELSA)
O Estudo Longitudinal de Saúde do Adulto - ELSA, é um estudo multicêntrico prospectivio com amostra de 15 mil participantes, funcionários de instituições públicas de ensino superior e pesquisa, com o objetivo de investigar aspectos epidemiológicos, clínicos e moleculares de doenças crônicas, principalmente doenças cardiovasculares e diabetes. Os principais objetivos são 1-Estimar, entre participantes, a prevalência e a incidência do diabetes e das doenças cardiovasculares e estudar sua história natural. 2-Identificar e investigar associações entre fatores biológicos, comportamentais, ambientais, ocupacionais, psicossociais e sociais relacionados a essas doenças e às complicações decorrentes, buscando compor modelo causal que contemple suas inter-relações. 3-Descrever a evolução temporal desses fatores e os determinantes dessa evolução 4-Identificar modificadores de efeito das associações observadas. 5-Identificar diferenciais nos padrões de risco entre os centros. A linha de base foi completada em dezembro de 2010, com 15100 participantes arrolados, que estão sendo seguidos anualmente por entrevista telefônica. A segunda visita clínica está projetada para iniciar em março de 2012.

2008 a AtualInstituto Nacional de Ciência e Tecnologia para Avaliação de Tecnologia em Saúde
Trata-se de um dos Institutos recentemente Propostos pelo CNPq (financiamento de 2,3 milhõóes de reais) e tem como objetivos: OBJETIVO GERAL Constituir-se em Instituto de referência na produção de orientações e avaliações críticas de tecnologias em saúde. OBJETIVOS ESPECÍFICOS - Desenvolver pesquisas de avaliação de tecnologias em saúde. - Avaliar tecnologias em saúde em metanálises, revisões sistemáticas, análises econômicas em saúde e impacto orçamentário. - Promover a formação de recursos humanos para fortalecer o processo decisório nos diversos níveis do Sistema Único de Saúde e medicina suplementar. - Participar no desenvolvimento de rede de apoio a gestão do Ministério da Saúde, Secretarias Estadual e Municipal de Saúde. - Constituir pólo nacional para prestação de serviço em Avaliação de Tecnologia para o Sistema Único de Saúde e medicina suplementar, e o poder público judiciário, no apoio de parecer técnico - Fortalecer programa de parceria colaborativa entre as instituições integrantes da REBRATS.
